rapitag has been shortlisted for the ECR On-Shelf Availability (OSA) Innovation Challenge 2021 and was selected in the top 10 in the finals among 200 technology innovators by judges from the world’s leading retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies. At the virtual event held in December 2021, our co-founder & CEO Alexander Schneider pitched about rapitag’s securing mobile checkout on retail floors and new omnichannel customer experiences.
This year, ECR OSA Innovation Challenge took place in December 2021 to connect global retailer decision-makers with the world’s leading innovators to talk about the newest innovative solutions to On-Shelf Availability issues. At the event, decision-makers from more than 50 retail and CPG leaders such as H&M, Tesco, IKEA, L’Oreal, P&G, Duracell, Diageo, Carrefour, Sainsburys, Albert Heijn and Kroger connected and listened to rapitag’s pitch.
In the 5-minute pitch, Alexander drew attention to in-store queues and theft issues and introduced rapitag’s unique IoT-based solution that enables contactless self-checkout with anti-theft protection for different product categories: Adult Beverages, Fashion/Apparel and Electronics. He mentioned how rapitag tags turn every product into a contactless point of sales, offering a convenient, fast self-checkout experience and how rapitag’s smart tags can be integrated into different needs: Scan & Go for full theft protection, Self-Checkout (SCO) for no staff requirement, and to classic POS to enable 60-85% faster check-out operation.
